About the Cell

The Anti-Ragging Cell of Rainbow College of Education is committed to upholding the dignity of every student by providing a ragging-free atmosphere on campus. The institution follows the guidelines laid down by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is dedicated to preventing, curbing, and responding to any instance of ragging with zero tolerance.

UGC Definition of Ragging

“Ragging” means any act of physical or mental abuse (including bullying and exclusion) targeted at another student, whether on or off-campus, that causes or is likely to cause distress, fear, or shame.

Objectives

  • To prohibit any form of ragging inside or outside the college campus.
  • To create awareness among students about the consequences of ragging.
  • To take preventive measures through counseling, orientation, and strict policies.
  • To ensure swift disciplinary action in case of any violation.

Anti-Ragging Measures

  • Mandatory anti-ragging undertaking by students and parents at the time of admission.
  • Display of anti-ragging posters and helpline details throughout the campus.
  • Regular awareness sessions, workshops, and vigilance drives.
  • Installation of complaint boxes and availability of an online grievance form.
  • 24x7 support through the Anti-Ragging Committee .
